Dropping Classes: Students may still drop a class until the end of the first quarter, Friday, Oct 13. If the class is in the middle of the day, a student may add a TA period. TA is the only class a student can still add to their schedule.
Class Visits: Counselors will visit frosh and sophomore classes to talk about 4-year planning, credits, how to get involved, and other things they should be thinking about.
Senior Appointments: Counselors will begin individual appointments with seniors beginning the second week of September, during which we will discuss the student’s plans for after high school. We will go through necessary steps to apply to college, arrange for relevant documents, and review deadlines.
The CSF application period is open! CSF (California Scholarship Federation) is an honor society. Current 11th and 12th graders are encouraged to apply. A complete CSF application has 2 parts – an application form and a payment on the webstore. Turn forms in to the Counseling Office. The deadline is Sep 30 for both the form and the payment! Students who are members for at least 4 semesters, including during senior year, will get special stole to wear at graduation. Read the FAQ on the application form and contact Ms. Schonauer for any clarification.

Schedule Changes: Schedule changes will end tomorrow, Monday, Aug 28. We have made hundreds of changes, but unfortunately could not accommodate all requests. Please have your student see their counselor if they are still wanting a schedule change.

We will give students an updated transcript, review post high school options with seniors and introduce post high school planning to juniors. Schedule Changes: Counselors received many requests over the summer from students to change their schedule and they have made all changes currently possible. Students will receive their schedules on Dons Day, and may begin requesting a schedule change starting the first day of school, Tuesday, Aug 15. We will be making schedule changes through the first ten days of school (ending on Monday, Aug 28). Please understand that all changes are subject to availability. A schedule change request form will be posted to our website on Tuesday, Aug 15 and this will be the only way students may request a schedule change.

New Counselor in the Fall: We welcome Erika Vasquez to our team next year! Erika comes to us from Miramonte High School. She will take over the En-Kr alpha. Christine Todd has accepted a counseling position at a middle school closer to her home in Pleasanton.
Counseling Office Summer Hours: The Counseling Office will be open through Friday, Jun 16, with the registrar, Emily Finn. Counseling will close between Jun 19 and Jul 31, re-opening on Tuesday, Aug 1.

This is an accelerated class designed for strong Algebra students (who have an A test average) to accelerate in math. This class also requires a teacher recommendation.
