2024-25 Volunteer Service Awards Program
The Acalanes Parents Club (APC) plays a key role in managing annual community service awards for AHS students through financial support and parent volunteers. Students at AHS can earn either the Acalanes Community Service Award or the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, depending on the number of hours they volunteer. These awards are valuable additions to student resumes and college applications.
During the 2023/2024 volunteer service year, AHS students volunteered a total of 15,971 hours across 428 different organizations. In recognition of their dedication:
- 122 students received the Acalanes Community Service Award.
- 93 students received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award.
The APC supports student community service by:
- Providing parent volunteer oversight for the community service program.
- Accrediting AHS as a Presidential Volunteer Service Award Certifying Organization.
- Funding “Helper Helper,” a student volunteer tracking app.
- Purchasing service award certificates for qualifying students.
For more information about these awards and how students can qualify, please visit the Career and College page on the AHS website.
