from the Principal (email dated 8/19/21)

Hello Acalanes Students and Families,

I am excited to announce the details of our Back to School Night event happening on August 26th.

We will begin the evening in our front quad at 5:30pm with an outdoor reception followed by a short state of the school message by myself at 5:45pm. Our Acalanes Parents Club will be providing refreshments and our Athletic Boosters, Acalanes Performing Arts Boosters, and Lafayette Partners in Education will be supporting the event and are excited to connect with our families.

At 6:15pm parents will begin visiting classrooms. Each class period will be 10 minutes long and there is a 5 minute passing period between classes. Please click here for our Back to School Night Program, including schedule, and teacher classroom assignments.

To avoid overcrowding in the classrooms during Back to School Night, all AUHSD high schools are asking that families only have one parent/guardian per student in a classroom at a time. As we require of our students, we ask that everyone please wear masks when entering and visiting our classrooms.

Our library, Wellness Center and College and Career Center will also be available for drop in visits throughout the evening.

Following our classroom visits at 8:20pm, we will be hosting class meetings for our 9th and 10th grade families in the Big Gym.

I look forward to seeing you and celebrating the start of our school year together.

Acalanes Community Always,

Eric Shawn
