LPIE is proud to welcome back Ashby Lumber as a Diamond Business Partner this year. We’re especially grateful to Bryan and Emily Morgan for their continued dedication to LPIE and Lafayette public schools.
Bryan brings thoughtful leadership to our Board of Directors as this year’s Vice President, and Emily’s support through Ashby Lumber helps us continue to strengthen our schools and community.
In Emily’s words: “Ashby Lumber is proud to support LPIE! As a family-owned company with deep roots in the Bay Area, we believe in giving back to the communities that have supported us for over 50 years. Supporting local schools means investing in the next generation of leaders, innovators, and builders. If you’re planning a home project or your contractor needs quality building materials, make sure it’s Ashby. Let’s build something great together!”
Thank you, Ashby Lumber, for helping us build a brighter future for Lafayette students.

LPIE Makes Its Largest Investment Ever in Acalanes High School – Thanks to YOU!
Because of the incredible generosity of the Acalanes parent community, LPIE was able to make its biggest-ever investment in Acalanes High School this year—directly enhancing the education every student receives. From salaries for teachers of 20 elective and AP class sections, to technology tools, classroom supplies, and enhanced learning resources, your support touches every classroom, every teacher, and every child.
Every student benefits from LPIE’s funding—and that’s why we ask every family to join in. Your gift to the Annual Giving Campaign ensures we can continue to fund the programs and resources that make our schools exceptional.
Ways to Give:
- Acalanes Webstore – your gift will automatically be directed to LPIE.
- lpie.org – give online anytime.
- Monthly Donor – spread your gift across the year for easier budgeting.
- Stock or Donor Advised Fund – maximize your impact.
- Employer Match – double or triple your gift at no extra cost to you.

Local Support is Essential to Our Schools
This year, more than half of our families came together to support the critical role local funding plays in our schools. We are deeply grateful to the 55% of families who contributed to LPIE. Your generosity made a meaningful impact at your child’s school, and that’s something to be proud of. We are deeply grateful to every family who contributed to LPIE this year. Your generosity made a meaningful difference at your child’s school, and that’s something to be proud of.
To show our appreciation, we will recognize our donors on the LPIE website and in the June issue of Lamorinda Weekly. In July, we’ll share our Annual Report, highlighting the many ways your support has helped maintain the excellence of our schools.
Our schools rely on community support year after year. To those who gave this year — thank you. We hope you’ll continue to stand with us by supporting the 2025–26 Annual Giving Campaign.
Until then, we wish you and your family a safe, joyful, and restful summer!
Thank You to Our Remarkable Fundraising Volunteers
A heartfelt thank you to this incredible team of volunteers who embraced the challenge of raising $4.7 million for Lafayette’s public schools for the 2024–25 school year. Through your dedication, collaboration, and unwavering commitment, you successfully reached — and surpassed — this ambitious goal. We are truly grateful for the time, energy, and talents you so generously shared to benefit our students and schools. Your efforts make a lasting impact, and our community is stronger because of you. Thank you!

Lafayette Community Survey Results
Earlier this year, more than 500 families responded to LPIE’s Community Survey—thank you for your time, honesty, and insights.
What You Told Us: Many families want more clarity on school funding and the need for donations—especially in a public school context. Some were surprised to learn that both Lafayette and Acalanes Union High School Districts are operating at budget deficits, and that schools heavily rely on local support through LPIE and parcel taxes—not just property taxes or rent. You also shared personal barriers to giving. Some weren’t sure smaller gifts matter (they do!) and asked for more transparency around how funds are used. We hear you!
What Hasn’t Changed: Every gift matters. While we agree public education shouldn’t rely on private funding, it currently does—and we’re deeply grateful to every family who chooses to invest in our students.
