APC

Co-Presidents’ Message

We hope the first few weeks of school have gone well for your students and they have adjusted back to the school calendar schedule. Most students (and parents) are likely looking forward to the long Labor Day weekend!

Parent feedback from Back to School Night was tremendously positive. The classroom visits with teachers are always a highlight and we appreciate the shout-out many teachers gave to Acalanes Parents Club and LPIE for our support. We are always looking for ways to improve upon BTSN and the parent meetings that follow the classroom visits.  Please reach out to us if you have any input you’d like to share.

Thank you Acalanes parents for helping APC meet its 2019-20 Fundraising Campaign goal! We could not provide the services and programs that we do without your support. A special thank you to our VP of Fundraising Veronique Kuhner for overseeing our fundraising.

We hope you’ll consider joining us at the upcoming APC Volunteer Campus Clean-Up Work Party on Sunday, September 14. We are excited about some clean-up projects that we hope will be completed that day if we can rally enough volunteers.

Enjoy the long weekend!

Come for an hour or stay the entire time. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Please RSVP to volunteer@acalanesparentsclub.com.

Co-Presidents’ Message

We hope you were able to join us at Back to School Night last Thursday! It was a wonderful opportunity to mingle with other Dons parents, meet our teachers, and get a peek into what’s ahead for our students this year.

For all APC Donors, if you didn’t have a chance to pick up your complimentary copy of the 2019-20 Parent Handbook and Student Directory, please stop by the Registrar’s Office. We can’t thank new freshman parents Heidi Hambidge and Sharon Hunt enough for spending countless hours putting together the handbook/directory in record time.

A key role of APC is to help AHS parents find ways to get involved on campus. If you would like to volunteer, the best place to start is with your class liaisons (contact info in class sections below). Believe it or not, staffing the Snack Shack at home football games is a great way to connect with other parents while helping to raise money for your student’s class. Additionally, you can always reach out to our APC Volunteer Coordinator, Catherine Habas, for ongoing volunteer opportunities.

Parent Handbook/ Student Directory

If you would like a Parent Handbook and Student Directory but have not had a chance to donate to APC yet, it’s never too late and no amount is too big or too small.  Please go to the Acalanes Web Store to donate now.  Your donation is tax deductible and helps fund several programs and events which benefit all of our Dons.

If you did not pick up our Directory at BTSN, please be sure to swing by the Registrar’s Office to get your complimentary copy.  And, THANK YOU for donating to Acalanes Parents Club this year!

Co-President’s Message

We hope you had an enjoyable summer and your students are excited for the new school year. We look forward to seeing returning families and meeting new ones on campus at Dons Day tomorrow from 7:30-11:30am. Acalanes Parents Club (APC) will  welcome all early risers with a hot cup of coffee and yummy Johnny’s donut holes.

Dons Day provides a great opportunity for families to connect to all things Acalanes. Be sure to take the time to stop by individual class tables (e.g., Class of 2020, 2021, 2222 & 2023) staffed by parent class liaisons and class officers to gather important information about the upcoming school year.

We hope you’ll join us for our monthly APC Dons Dialogues! These forums are one of the best ways to find out what’s going on at Acalanes. Principal Bell leads the meetings and discusses hot topics and invites different department heads to share what’s new. It’s also a great way to meet other Dons parents. Our first APC Dons Dialogue will be held this Friday, August 16th, at 8:45am, in the new Acalanes Wellness Courtyard.

Finally, THANK YOU to all the families who have already supported Acalanes Parents Club during online student registration! If you have yet to donate, we hope you will consider supporting APC at the $300 per student suggested amount or any other donation amount.  If you’d like to get involved at Acalanes, please reach out as we are always looking for engaged volunteers.

Go Dons!
