State funding barely covers the basics.
Lafayette schools receive less state funding than nearly every other district in California.
Our community steps up to fund the people and programs our schools need through donations to LPIE.
Ready to join other Lafayette families in supporting our schools?
Many families give:
$1/school day ≈ $180/year
$3/school day ≈ $540/year

2026-2027 LPIE Open Board Member Positions
We are currently recruiting for next year’s Board and are seeking candidates for the following positions:
- Vice President
- Business Partners (1 co-chair)
- Arts & Humanities (1 co-chair)
- Music & Performing Arts (1 co-chair – must have a student at Acalanes)
- New families (1 co-chair – must have students TK-8)
If you moved to Lafayette for its exceptional public schools, joining the LPIE Board is one of the most powerful ways to help sustain and strengthen them. Our schools rely on local funding and we need the next generation of committed leaders to step into these roles so that we can continue to raise over $4M per year for our kids. If you are interested in learning more, please contact our Past President Samantha Carter at pastpresident@lpie.org. Thank you!
