HoCo Decor and Work Party Help. We’re in the home stretch for HoCo prep! Please sign up here to donate/lend Las Vegas-themed decor or to donate funds for snacks for the work parties. And please encourage your students to attend the HoCo work parties!
HoCo Work Party Schedule:
- Sunday, Sept 13 (TODAY), 1:30-4:30pm at AHS (near Walton’s classroom)
- Saturday, Sept 19, 11:00am-2:00pm at AHS (near Walton’s classroom)
- Sunday, Sept 20: 10:00am-4:00pm – HoCo HALLWAY DECORATING!!!
PSAT Registration and Volunteers Needed. AHS will host a school-day PSAT/SAT on Monday, Oct 5. The price per exam is $30 for PSAT and $60 for SAT. The webstore is open to receive payment and will close on Friday, Sept 18. Your webstore receipt is your confirmation of your registration. Adults are also needed to proctor the exams (volunteer or $25/hr) with the only restriction that you can’t proctor your own student’s exam. If you have any questions or would like to help proctor, please reach our Testing Coordinator, Jamielle McDonald by email jmcdonald@auhsdschools.org.
AP Exam Registration and Payment. Payment for AP Exams is now available on the Webstore. Make sure you purchase your exam(s) before Friday, Nov 6. Please note that registration is a two step process. Students must first add their Join Code onto the College Board Website BEFORE purchasing the exam off the Webstore. If you want to take an exam but aren’t currently enrolled in the Course at Acalanes, please see Jamielle McDonald jmcdonald@auhsdschools.org for an Exam Only Join Code. This must be done before purchasing the Exam off the Webstore.
California Scholarship Federation Applications. CSF is an honor society for high school students and current juniors and seniors should apply this month. Students who are members for at least 4 semesters during high school get a gold sash to wear at graduation and it’s an award to put on college applications. Students need to re-apply every semester. Please read the application carefully for eligibility requirements and instructions. The deadline is Monday, Sept 30.
Junior Prom Parent Chair Needed. We are looking for 1–2 parents to help and shadow the Senior Parent Chair for the Junior/Senior Prom this year, and then take over the lead role next year. This is a fun position for a great event, and the prom planning process is a well-oiled machine, so it should be very low stress! Please reach out to class2028@acalanesparentsclub.com or directly to any of our Junior Liaisons if you’re interested in learning more.
Class Activity Fund. If you haven’t yet, please consider contributing to our Class of 2028 Activity Fund here. All proceeds go toward Junior Class social events and Class of 2028 senior activities.
