Co-Presidents’ Message
Thank you to our amazing Dons community! Along with our partner schools in the district, in just one week we raised over $6,300 towards our goal of $10,000 and donated thousands of pounds of canned goods to our neighboring communities as part of the AUHSD Food Drive. There is still time to give! Donation bins are located near the Main Gym and online donations can be made here. Our Dons families also pushed Lafayette Community Foundation $4,600 closer to their $25,000 matching campaign goal. You can still support their effort here. This week’s Community Can’t Be Canceled effort focuses on supporting Lafayette businesses who are still “open” while their brick and mortar stores are closed.- Let's Celebrate Moms, Grads and Dads! Many local boutiques (think Amphora Nueva, Farmyard Darlings, Lemon, Luck, Venture, etc.) may appear to be closed but owners are happy to pull items, gift wrap and deliver them right to your doorstep. With Mother’s Day right around the corner, now is a great time to view a selection of gifts from our Lafayette retailers on the Lafayette Chamber’s website.

AUHSD Food Drive Better When Joined Together!
Acalanes has partnered with Campolindo, Miramonte and Las Lomas to support our neighbors in need. Keep up the great work by contributing to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano Counties food bins placed at all AUHSD campuses to collect canned food and nonperishable items. Please follow county Shelter in Place guidelines should you choose to contribute. They are also in urgent need of monetary donations which you can do online here.

Lafayette Gifts for Mom!
Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 10, and Lafayette retailers have put together some great gift ideas to purchase for Mom. You can check out a selection of gifts from local businesses on the Lafayette Chamber’s website here. Buying local helps our Lafayette businesses survive and provides sales tax dollars to the City of Lafayette.

AHS Leadership Spurs Appreciation to our Local Grocery Stores
Our local grocery stores, including Diablo Foods, Safeway, Trader Joes and Whole Foods, are going out of their way to support our community by creating safe spaces to shop. These workers are putting their own health and safety on the line so that we can feed our families. AHS Leadership is spearheading an effort to “thank a grocery worker” wherever you shop by dropping off a handwritten note of thanks.
