The theme of the week – snacks. Does your kid open the fridge and pantry and declare that there’s nothing to eat when, in fact, there is actually food in there? Well, same. And we also know that those same kids, when presented with the same food anywhere but inside their own home, suddenly act like they haven’t been fed in three years. We get it, it’s super annoying and should not be encouraged. But in the name of community, let’s just all band together and feed these starving kids. Here are a few opportunities:
Hallway decorating parties take place tomorrow, Monday, Sept 7 and the following two weekends. Last weekend we had over 60 frosh show up to help out! These are a great way to meet a fellow classmate, get involved and get excited for the year. But these kids are ravenous, so please consider signing up to bring some snacks.
Football is back and so is the snack shack! Our first home game is Friday, Sept 11 and the theme is Bleed Blue! Come help out in the snack shack, meet other parents and see your Don in the wild (because of course they will visit the snack shack). Parents from all classes are encouraged to help out at this snack shack.
The frosh parent snack shack is the following Friday, Sept 18 and the theme is USA! The snack shack will be entirely staffed by frosh parents this week, so this is a fabulous way to meet fellow 2030 parents (we’re together for the next 4 years!) and also, feed those hungry Dons. Sign up to help out, there’s lots of shift options!
Acalanes Class of 2030 Parent Social: Parents need snacks too, and sometimes we don’t like what’s in the fridge or pantry either. Join us Wednesday, Sep 16 at 7:00pm at Hideout. Adults only, partners welcome. Come for dinner or come for a drink and meet the parents in your student’s class. This is a no-host event. Please RSVP.
