Back to School Night
from the Principal (email dated 8/19/21)
Hello Acalanes Students and Families,
I am excited to announce the details of our Back to School Night event happening on August 26th.
We will begin the evening in our front quad at 5:30pm with an outdoor reception followed by a short state of the school message by myself at 5:45pm. Our Acalanes Parents Club will be providing refreshments and our Athletic Boosters, Acalanes Performing Arts Boosters, and Lafayette Partners in Education will be supporting the event and are excited to connect with our families.
At 6:15pm parents will begin visiting classrooms. Each class period will be 10 minutes long and there is a 5 minute passing period between classes. Please click here for our Back to School Night Program, including schedule, and teacher classroom assignments.
Following our classroom visits at 8:20pm, we will be hosting class meetings for our 9th and 10th grade families in the Big Gym.
I look forward to seeing you and celebrating the start of our school year together.

APC Parent Ed Talk – “A Year Away”
August 19 from 6:30-8pm A Year Away: Practical Tips for a Successful Return to School
Parent Ed is hosting their first talk of the year, featuring Ardis C. Martin, MD! Dr. Martin is a board certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist who enjoys speaking about the importance of mental health, with the goal of reducing stigma, promoting prevention, and improving overall mental well-being. This event is open to all AUHSD district parents/guardians and their students. To register, click here.
We will look at the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of our students over the past year and steps we can take moving forward to ensure positive well-being as they return to school this fall. Please bring your questions so we can talk about the impact the pandemic has had on us all, and let’s promote a safe space for healing and providing support.
