Summer School is Available Students with D/F grades in classes required for graduation may sign up to repeat these classes in summer school— held at Las Lomas High School this year. Please fill out this application and submit it to your student’s counselor.
Counselor Assignments May Change Acalanes has 3.6 counselors this year, and will have 3.4 counselors next year. Erika Vazquez will be on site two days a week and will have a further reduced caseload (she will be at Las Lomas the other three days, and will be fully accessible by phone and email). Anne Schonauer, Marissa Meadows and Susan Martin will absorb the additional students. We will send out our new alpha breakdown at the beginning of next school year.

Finals Schedule: May 26 – 29
Parents, please take note of the spring finals schedule. Monday, May 25 is a non school day for Memorial Day. The finals schedule begins on Tuesday, May 26. A great way to help support our students during finals is to help out with Finals Fuel (see below).

Finals Fuel – Volunteers & Snacks
Finals are just around the corner…..and that means FINALS FUEL is back! During finals week, the APC provides snacks for the students during brunch period. We need your help to refuel and recharge our Dons. Here are three ways to help:
- Purchase snacks from the Amazon Wish list found here. Items will be sent from Amazon directly to a residence for transport to AHS, no need to deliver anything.
- Don’t want to purchase via Amazon? No problem! Sign up to purchase snacks yourself from the SignUpGenius here, and you deliver to a private residence in Lafayette.
- Volunteer to hand out snacks on campus (Wednesday-Friday). Sign up for shifts here.

Encourage your student to dress-up, participate & show up to the events in our last spirit week of the year! It all kicks off Sunday with Time of Reflection & culminates with the year end rally and senior picnic.

As we move into the final 2 weeks of the year, I want to say thank you for everything you did to make this a great year for your student & for our community. Acalanes is a special, special place. Collage Concert on Thursday, May 21 in the PAC
Please save the date for our final performance of the year. On Thursday May 21 at 6:30pm in the Performing Arts Center, students will perform a beautiful collage of pieces, some showcasing specific ensembles. We invite you to this special evening as we cap off a fantastic year of music from our exceptional students at Acalanes.

Legislative News
Measure H for LAFSD
Measure H is on the June 2026 ballot. This local parcel tax would replace Measure L (expiring in 2027) and help close funding gaps caused by California’s school funding formula, which ranks Lafayette among the lowest-funded districts in the state.
Funds from Measure H would stay local and support maintaining small class sizes, attracting and retaining excellent teachers, and preserving core academic programs like math, science, reading, and the arts. The measure also includes independent oversight, annual audits, and a senior exemption.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the families who contributed salads, desserts, and beverages, and to our amazing Staff Appreciation Co-Chairs, Dominique Mickelson and Stacey Hastings, for organizing such an incredible meal for our teachers and staff.
