Co-Presidents’ Message
As we embark on our last month of the school year, we continue to be so proud of our incredible Acalanes community and all the ways Dons students, teachers, admin and families continue to Show Up! Has your student received any fun mail lately? Huge thanks go out to Jill Perlman and Tina Gullberg from our Attendance Office for stuffing and mailing out Community Can’t Be Canceled stickers to every single Acalanes student! We hope it put a smile on their faces and reminded them that we are all still thinking about them. We have received so much gratitude from our local Lafayette businesses who have appreciated the ongoing efforts of support from our Dons families. We encourage you to continue to think local first when shopping for gifts and meals for Mother’s Day and spring birthdays in the coming weeks. See below for other ways we can continue to spread our Acalanes spirit throughout our community. Don’t miss the last APC Dons Dialogue of the school year this Friday, May 8, from 10-11am when Principal Bell will provide an update on the Student SIP Survey, Graduation, Summer Registration and more. Register here and email us your questions in advance! See you then! Dawn Brightbill and Sarah Cusumano -
AUHSD Food Drive Exceeds Goal at $13k and Counting!
Thanks to your generous support and involvement, our district food drive has exceeded our original goal of $10,000 and continues to climb! In partnership with neighboring high schools Campolindo, Miramonte and Las Lomas, we have decided to extend the food drive one more week. If you’re interested in supporting the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano Counties, food bins will remain on all campuses through May 8, and online donations can be made here. As usual, please follow county Shelter in Place guidelines at all times. -
Lafayette Gifts for Mom!
Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 10, and Lafayette retailers have put together some great gift ideas to purchase for Mom. You can check out a selection of gifts from local businesses on the Lafayette Chamber’s website here. Buying local helps our Lafayette businesses survive and provides sales tax dollars to the City of Lafayette.

AHS Leadership Spurs Appreciation to our Local Grocery Stores
Our local grocery stores, including Diablo Foods, Safeway, Trader Joes and Whole Foods, are going out of their way to support our community by creating safe spaces to shop. These workers are putting their own health and safety on the line so that we can feed our families. AHS Leadership is spearheading an effort to “thank a grocery worker” wherever you shop by dropping off a handwritten note of thanks.

- Scan the work permit to both Mrs. Perlman and Mrs. Gullberg in the main office.

Counseling
Counselors are working from home and are still here to support our students. We miss seeing our students! Please contact us if you have questions or want to check in.
DVC summer classes: Diablo Valley College (DVC) published a schedule of summer classes. It looks like they are preparing to offer all summer classes online. If your student is looking to take a college course for enrichment purposes, it could be a good opportunity. Students need to apply to DVC online ahead of time. Check back with DVC after May 4 for a paperless concurrent enrollment process.
Transcripts Students can still request official transcripts on the webstore. Our registrar is processing requests regularly. Unofficial transcripts can be requested from our registrar or a counselor.
