Students can volunteer to Zoom Babysit for our teachers’ and staff little Dons. Encourage your big Don to give back, help the AHS teaching team, and make a young kid’s day! Students can sign up here to participate, with more details to follow.
Student Video Library
Students can also make 15 to 60-minute videos highlighting any skill they’d like to share. These videos will be used by AHS teachers and staff to help keep their little ones entertained day or night. Let’s do this!
Mark your calendar and get to Chipotle on Tuesday, Feb 4 between 4-8pm. You’ll be supporting sophomore Dons and making dinner plans a snap!
Feb 10-12 Gotta Getta Gram! Encourage your Don to show a fellow classmate or faculty member they care by purchasing a Grateful Gram on campus between Feb 10-12. Visit the Freshman Class section below for details.

Here’s an easy way to support our Junior AND Sophomore AHS classes while cheering on our Dons: head to a Girls or Boys Varsity Basketball game and purchase a snack! Thanks to these classes, home basketball games for Girls (Juniors) and home league games for Boys (Sophomores) will feature light concessions where all sales go back to Juniors and Sophomores to help fund their Grad Nights. Head to the gym on Tuesday and Friday this week to watch the Lady Dons and buy a snack to support your AHS Juniors. Everybody wins!

In addition to football, our water polo and tennis teams play cross town rivals Campolindo this week too (see sports section below). Show your spirit and enjoy the action. Go teams!

In an effort to better communicate with students and the community on the big events each month, we have created a Dons Show Up in October calendar (on the Acalanes home page). This week come out to the pool on Wednesday beginning at 4 pm to watch girls and boys water polo. Pep band will be present! It is a big night for our water polo community.
On Friday, October 18 there is a meeting during academy for any student interested in auditioning for the musical. Check out the Performing and Visual Arts section below for details.
Talk about a week of our Dons Showing Up for each other! Homecoming hallway decorating, skits, games and activities all take a ton of work. Our Dons could not have done it without their classmates. Perhaps you’ve seen the new hashtag #DonsShowUp around campus and wondered exactly what it is. This year, Acalanes is kicking off a new campaign asking students, parents, teachers, and staff to “show up” for each other to help build community.
Showing up could be as simple as going to an event that a student might not usually attend; athletes showing up for plays, theater students going to concerts or someone from the orchestra attending a game.
Showing up also means students reaching out and being there for another student; taking the extra step to ask a fellow student if they are OK, checking in on someone eating lunch alone or simply saying hi to another student whom they don’t already know.
The goal is for all students at Acalanes to be supported and seen.
