Senior exit survey is mandatory: If your student has decided on their post high school plans, please have them log into Naviance and finish their Acalanes senior exit survey. It is the only way final transcripts will be sent to colleges.
 
JUNIORS:
We’re excited to be partnering with College Essay Guy to offer AHS students a number of awesome college application resources and virtual workshops. Students can join any or all of these live online courses:

• How to Write A Personal Statement Boot Camp (Jun 3, 5, 7)
• How to Write A Personal Statement Boot Camp (Jun 17, 20, 21)
• The College Application + Supplemental Essays Crash Course (Sept 22)
• How to Answer the UC Personal Insight Questions Crash Course (Oct 5-6)

To Register:

• Go to the registration page: https://www.collegeessayguy.com/sub–ceg–live–students
• During the registration process, students will be asked to select their school from a dropdown menu.
• Enter name and email.
• Select the workshops your student would like to join.
• That’s it! A confirmation will be sent to the email address submitted with the form.
• A follow up email will be sent with next steps and instructions for assignments, as well as how to join the live events.

Interested in Careers in the Trades? Representatives from the Contra Costa Building/Electrical/Sheet Metal Associations and DVC’s Career Education amongst others will be attending. The Trade Fair will be held during lunch on Wednesday, Apr 24 in the front quad.

Water Polo Scholarship: The Lafayette Water Polo Foundation is accepting applications for seniors who play water polo.
 
The Matt Lynn Memorial Scholarship is now available. It will be awarded to college-bound seniors from Acalanes who have participated in a high school varsity sport(s) and who intend to continue playing a varsity or club sport in college.
 
Diablo Valley Assistance League  is offering a $6000 need-based scholarship for students attending a 4 year university and $4000 for those going to community college.

SAT/ACT Free Practice Exams: Practice ACT and digital SAT exams are available with Revolution Prep. Click here to register. The ACT practice exam is on Saturday, Apr 20 from 9am – 1pm. The SAT practice exam is on Saturday, Apr 20 from 9am – 12pm.

CAREER ACADEMY & TRADE FAIR!
The Acalanes College and Career Center will host a Creative Arts and Design Career academy on Wednesday, Apr 10 at 10am. One of our committed speakers is Joel Flory, the co-founder of VSCO. We would like to invite other interested parents, alumni, and community members to share their career
experiences/pathways in graphic design, film/screenwriting, animation, sculpture, painting, fashion, photography, graphic design, etc. with our students. If you would like to be a presenter or know someone who would be a good fit, please email Debbie Levy and provide your name, industry, and phone number. We will follow up with all contacts.
