Welcome to a new school year! Does your student need medication at school? Do you need to communicate with me about your student’s health/medical issue? Please use the QR code below to access the appropriate medical form you may need. ![]() Help your child manage stress: 1. Provide breakfast. Even if they say they’re not hungry, ask them what they would be WILLING to eat and have that readily available to eat before school or take with them. 2. Make sure they have access to healthy food and snacks throughout the day. 3. Make sure they stay hydrated – have them bring a water bottle that they can refill throughout the day. Those are also available at the Cafeteria. Food can be hydrating too – especially fresh vegetables and fruit! Try this GRATITUDE PRACTICE. Wellness Center
The Wellness team would like to welcome everyone to the 23-24 school year! We are so happy to be back serving Acalanes students and we couldn’t do it without the generosity of our amazing community of parents and families. If you think that your student might benefit from mental health support this school year, please fill out a Wellness referral which can be found in the Wellness Center section of the Acalanes High School website.
The Wellness Center will be closed during class for the first two weeks of school for program planning, preparation for new support counselors and to get students in the habit of going to class and staying in class. We will resume our normal drop–in hours on Monday, Aug 28 however we are always available to support students in crisis.
We look forward to another successful year of supporting student mental health right here on the Acalanes High School campus.

Student Activities
Welcome back to the 2023-2024 school year! To new families, welcome to the Acalanes community! We are so glad you are here. A few announcements and reminders as we start the year:
ASB Stickers: Thank you to all who have purchased the ASB Sticker via the webstore! There is still time to purchase and this money drives student activities at Acalanes. ASB costs $100 and the sticker gets printed on the ID Card. Perks include:
- Free spirit shirt
- Discounts at local businesses
- Free admission to home athletic events
- Discounts to on campus dances
Acalanes Spirit Wear Webstore: Looking for new Acalanes gear? Check out our summer webstore open now through Friday, Aug 18. All proceeds benefit the Classes of ‘24, ‘25, ‘26 & ‘27!
Dons Day: Encourage your student to check out their class table tomorrow morning, along with the 12 clubs who will be tabling. It is a great way to get connected!
Frosh Orientation is tomorrow from 12-1:30pm and is all student led. Students will check in at the PAC. Transfer orientation is from 11:30am-12:30pm and students will meet in front of the flagpole.
New and Returning Club Applications: Anyone can start a club at Acalanes and we encourage students to do so. Club applications will be available for any new or returning club on Monday, Aug 21 and due on Thursday, Aug 31. There is a mandatory meeting at lunch on Wednesday, Aug 23 in room 314 for anyone interested in starting or renewing a club.
Welcome Back Dance: Our Welcome Back Dance is on Friday, Aug 25 from 7-9pm. Held in the big gym, it is a great night of connection, activities and dancing. It is free for students with ASB and $10 without ASB. We are in need of adult chaperones and donations of snacks. If willing, please check out the sign up genius.
Class Shirts: Friday, Aug 18 is the last chance to order your class shirt via the webstore. Students typically wear their class shirts to rallies and other on campus events and this is a great fundraiser for each class. Shirts will be distributed in mid Sept during lunch – more details coming soon!
A few additional important dates:
Oct 9-14: Homecoming 2023
Apr 27: Junior & Senior Prom
My goal is that every student at Acalanes is connected to one activity outside of class. I am always happy to meet with students and/or parents about on campus programming and opportunities. If I can help, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

New Counselor: We welcome Erika Vasquez to our team this year! Erika previously worked for 11 years as a counselor at Miramonte High School. She will take over the En-Kr alpha.
Schedule Changes: Counselors received many requests over the summer from students to change their schedule and they have made all changes currently possible. Students will receive their schedules on Dons Day, and may begin requesting a schedule change starting the first day of school, Tuesday, Aug 15. We will be making schedule changes through the first ten days of school (ending on Monday, Aug 28). Please understand that all changes are subject to availability. A schedule change request form will be posted to our website on Tuesday, Aug 15 and this will be the only way students may request a schedule change.
Class Visits: Counselors will be looking to make grade level class visits beginning the end of August. More information coming in a week or two.
Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI)
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!
APC is looking for a DEI coordinator this year, which supports the many clubs at Acalanes focused on diversity, equity and inclusion. This individual also works with other schools in our district to help foster community DEI. This role can be divided, so anyone interested can also grab a friend and share in the work of supporting ongoing inclusion and equity at our school.
Please reach out if you might be interested or have any questions!
