Senior Awards Night is Thursday, May 31 at 7pm in the PAC.
The evening, by invitation only, is in recognition of the many accomplishments of our graduating seniors. If your seniors have received an outside scholarship or a school scholarship, please let me know so we may recognize them.
Seniors are invited to add their leaf to my tree in the C&CC to share their plans beyond Acalanes.
I will complete the Follow Up Study for the Class of 2012 in late May.

I am constantly asked what colleges need letters, essays, etc. I have listed guidelines below.
CSU: score reports, no transcript*, no essays, no letters
UC: score reports, two essays, brag sheet, no transcript*, no letters
Common App: score reports, letters, essays, brag sheet, transcript, supplement
Out of state publics: score report, transcript, may need essays and brag sheet
Privates: score reports, transcript, brag sheet, essays, letters, seventh semester grades
*CSU and UC use a self-reported transcript for admission.
Seniors: Counselors continue to meet individually with each senior to discuss graduation status and requirements, post-graduate plans, and Naviance instructions.
Transcripts: At the time of applications, students do not send a transcript to UC or CSU campuses; transcripts will be requested later if needed. Private schools and out-of-state public schools typically request a transcript be sent with the application materials. The transcript fee is $3.00 per transcript.
To Request a Transcript:
- 1. Request all transcripts through Naviance Family Connection
- 2. Print out the Transcript Status page
- 3. Bring the following to the Counseling Office:

* $3.00 per transcript
Transcript orders must be completed by October 1sfor Early Action/Early Decision Applications and by November 1 for Regular Applications.
Letters of Recommendation: Most private colleges require letters of recommendation from one or two teachers and from a counselor (also called the Secondary School Report). Students should request letters from their teachers well in advance of their application deadlines. Students requesting a letter from his/her counselor need to complete the Student Statement, Parent Statement, and Resume on Naviance Family Connection by October 1st for Early Action/Early Decision Applications and by November 1st for Regular Applications.

Students, juniors and seniors can check the list of college visits and sign up to attend on Naviance. Students must sign up 24 hours in advance so I can send the list of attendees to our teachers.
